Gordley, Larry L., Benjamin T. Marshall, Allen D. Chu (1994). "LINEPAK: Algorithms for modeling spectral transmittance and radiance". Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy & Radiative Transfer 52 (5): 563-580.

"A set of subroutines has been written for use in developing spectral models, with emphasis on the Earth's atmosphere. Features include rapid calculation of absorption cross section, radiance and transmission spectra for multiple gases and multiple paths. The routines are designed to allow user control of model geometry, line shape functions, band models, atmospheric layering, and spectral resolution. Numerical techniques and applications are described with examples that include a simulated limb scan retrieval and comparison to other codes."
